Districts have richer assessment data than ever before.

(Are your teachers able to use it to personalize learning?)

Your district invested in cutting-edge classroom devices and the best assessment software. ClassHero for math uses both to (finally!) help teachers instantly transform assessment results into personalized daily math practice.

The Problem

Assessment data doesn’t improve achievement if it’s not being used

Modern assessment software is producing deeply personalized data on every student. The problem now is that without the right tools teachers cannot practically or easily incorporate this data into their daily learning cycle. Without the right tools data is often discarded or used in its most meager form. This means that even with the best assessment software the promise of personalized learning/instruction remains a promise .

The Solution

ClassHero integrates assessment data to help teachers easily personalize everyday learning tasks

Import assessment data to instantly inform a teacher’s daily math instruction

Automatically apply assessment scores to personalize practice in the ClassHero Student App with one click

Empower teachers with the tools they need to integrate data and effect achievement and daily learning targets
Beyond Actionable to Everday Action

Not another "actionable insights" report. Now every assignment can be informed by recent assessment data.

ClassHero is the first and only math software to utilize assessment scores to inform daily practice in the classroom. Leveraging results down to the student level, ClassHero not only automatically adjusts individual practice in our Student App, we also "visualize" results for the teacher in our easy to use Teacher Dashboard.

Technology should empower teachers,
not try to replace them

The Problem

Traditional practice software is misaligned with classroom goals

Today’s math software is designed to supplement learning OUTSIDE the classroom either at home or in computer labs. Acting independently, this software is rarely aligned to a teacher’s everyday teaching targets. Designed as either boring drills or “all fun and games”, they fail to bridge the gap between students’ individual needs and a teacher’s daily instruction.

The Solution

ClassHero strengthens the connection between student, content and teacher instruction

Assign activities aligned with your everyday curriculum, with a teacher dashboard

See recommendations based on each child’s ongoing performance as well as Interim Assessments.

Get simple, actionable insights on each child’s strengths, needs and efforts.

Differentiate daily practice for every student with one click

  • ClassHero is a huge leap forward in doing personalization right and making it easy for teachers.
  • With ClassHero, teachers focus on their everyday goal of assigning practice aligned with their everyday curriculum
  • For every such assignment, ClassHero takes advantage of both – interim assessment data and real time feedback from students – to determine remedial real time interventions and adaptive practice

ClassHero seamlessly combines practice and intervention, keeping teachers and students aligned towards a singular goal

Effective personalization means targeting specific skills based on gaps in a student’s understanding

Too often “personalized” assessment reports offer a list of next steps for practice and instruction based on how students perform in entire math domains. However these reports cannot identify the specific skill in which a student is struggling. Besides teachers must manually put these next steps into any real action plan.

ClassHero automatically uses assessment data as a starting point and then adaptively identifies gaps in understanding of specific skills. With this approach ClassHero is able to differentiate more quickly and accurately to meet individual needs.

A Strategy for Personalized Math that Works

Sample Excerpt:

“In an independent study conducted by the SW WA STEM Network at21 Elementary schools in SW Washington, “at a 90% confidence level, students who participated in the pilot had greater academic gains in math than students who did not”. Students that did not use ClassHero either used traditional practice software or paper assignments or a combination of both.

In a separate benchmark study, data provided by ClassHero concurred with teacher observations that saw a 20% average increase in productive practice-time after ClassHero’s Badges system was introduced.

This gain was highest –at over 50% -among reluctant learners, a term we use for the 25% of the classroom that had clocked the lowest practice times before Badges were introduced.”

The performance test used in the study was the Common Math Assessment – a Curriculum Based Measurement Tool used by the District and strongly correlated with SBAC test scores.

Based on this data, use of Badges would have affected over 400 minutes of increased practice time per student per year when used as part of a daily routine.

Among children that clocked the lowest practice-times before badges were introduced, there was a gain of 50% in practice times after Badges were introduced

“Engagement went through the roof! My favorite thing is the freedom to have kids working at different skill levels!”

Angie Mode2nd grade teacher

““I can switch it to what I want the kids to work on and I can personalize it for quick learners and for slow learners. Total engagement.””
